Humble Request

To All: Will you guys PLEASE stop making negative references about comments from other threads? If you have a problem with what's being said somewhere else, then please take it up at the source and not here.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Michael,

Not withstanding what I personally think about a few contributors on the other board, to me it seems bad form to take shots at certain people in a moderated forum while these people are shut out.

Back on topic: Today's action in the semiconductors has made me face a reality. Today may not be "The reversal" in tech (with apologies to Ed). It probably isn't. I realized as tech (semiconductor) stocks were racing ahead I was saying to myself "No stop!! Come back!! You're not going to leave without me!!"
I've got big $$ in two IRA accounts (mine and the wife's) that I rarely trade. Mine I'm in the process of rolling over from a 401K on a previous job - 100% cash. Get this, in that 401K you could only move money on the last day of each month, and you had to have your request in by the 15th of that month in order to do it. Furthermore, the only equity option was an S&P 500 Index fund. Basically, the 401K custodians came right out and said that they didn't want people trading or market timing. Given this, I bailed out of the S&P 500 Index in January of 2000. Since I've left that job, I'm now rolling to a Schwab IRA.
As we all are, I am hoping to nail the bottom within 5% and score 50% returns on techs before the general public has even figured out that a turnaround is at hand. At some point I've got to make a determination, as KB has done with SUNW, that these stocks are really cheap, and I'm going to buy them and hold them for the next bull run. Not trade out with a 20% scalp and watch it run away.
This time for this may be nearer than some want to believe. Then again, it may be the oft stated 6-12 months out.
