Redbird,

"Does anyone other than NG and I believe AMD is able to pass $26.50?"

Count me in :-)

Today's mega-presentation (CeBit was indeed a good occasion) of the 1.33 GHz Athlon, including the reports of its tremendous ability to overclock, was the last and decisive blow to the theory that AMD is going to be roadkill. It was this theory that has been holding AMD down for months. Now it is obvious to everybody that AMD is stronger than ever. The Street now realizes that in AMD's share price a huge earnings implosion has been built in, which will just not happen. (NO warning from AMD, in contrast to some competitor...)

Since the expected earnings IMPLOSION does not take place a share price EXPLOSION is the only logical consequence.

Peter

Redbird,

Don't you just love watching calls come into the money, Pravin? ;~)

Yep. I've got 50 contracts @ $20, 150 @ $25, and 50 more @ $27.5. Not to mention 153 July 25s, and 50 Jan 25s.

Go AMD!

Pravin.

redbird:

"Pravin et al, The last 3 times AMD hit 26, bad news pulled it down the next day (NT warns, INTC warns, DOW plunges). I see no bad news yet and it is past gidence season. Does anyone other than NG and I believe AMD is able to pass $26.50?"

CNBC hinted this AM that MU, even though delaying posting results, were anticipating positive results...Wonder if that's because they've pulled their boat alongside AMD's??? and further, if true that MU is OK, does that not portend favourably for AMD's Q1???

re: "Does anyone other than NG and I believe AMD is able to pass $26.50?"

Since, for some time now, as others ("old timers") on this and the original AMD Thread will probable readily acknowledge, I have been looking for what I have called a GUB (Greatest Upper Bound) from $250 to $500 per share (adjusted for the split) I believe that I can justifiably call you a very late comer to my parade.

Patient Regards,

DARBES
