cos... I apologized without hesitation for your discomfort. I will do so again now. Perhaps, you don't include teasing in your definition of friendliness or humor. I do and always have. I have to agree with X's objection. If the motivation is cruelty then it is not what I would classify as a tease. Yes, you were posting to E, not me. I was posting to you and no one else. I wasn't mocking you to a third party. I was teasing you. I would never tease someone if I thought they wouldn't take it in a friendly way. The topic "an adult hanging around a playground," is, again as X pointed out, a taboo in our culture. Most humor as I understand it comes from some sort of cultural taboo and is meant to dispel some of the discomfort about it. The thing is, any attempt at humor can be taken "the wrong way." What does that mean? It means someone can be made uncomfortable by it. So, what do you do. You can either make it worse by telling the person that there is something wrong with them or they would be laughing, or you can say you are sorry for the discomfort. I am sorry for your discomfort. You get it, you don't think it is funny...now what? I don't like Rickles, I confess I liked Pryor when he first started but not in later years. I do like Cosby, and Williams. As far as Neo getting a hoot...that was more about X's reactions. No body said they thought there would be any humor in implying or accusing you of hanging around playgrounds. Sorry for your discomfort on this matter. brees
