Red Hat beats estimate. This may give the Software segment a pop tomorrow.

'visibility is poor' is probably the worse part of this entire mess...

Glad to see your message about longs Tom, as I did the same today but only because ill be taking a week off next week and will have limited time for the market.. Eventually there has to be a small/sustained rally over 2000 on the nasdaq- but I gather your going to view that as a great short opportunity, right? :)

Im still holding my ARXX.. Funny, I was about 1/4 from being stopped out and than 1/2 hour later it rallies 2 points and im actually profitable on the position.. go figure.. I bailed in after hours on SPWX at 7 3/16 only because there was a large seller sitting on it near the close..thanks for that stock by the way- both SPWX and NUAN drove my profits this week.

What the hell is up with MU??? Things couldnt possibly look worse for this sector, and yet its defying gravity.. I guess we will never see the day where these things actually 'make sense' all the time.. Im upset that AMD is making a move (without me) but I think this will get a haircut along with the rest of the sector after the possible rally next week.. Today seemed like massive short covering so it should be interesting to see if we selloff a bit tomorrow..

Hope nobody was holding IMNX long.. nice haircut!

I cant join you folks on your NVDA short.. this time because our company is launching a whole series of products based on their chips, and id feel guilty.. Besides, I still think it will be available over 80 by next week (dont quote me on that!)

oh yeah- BKHM looks like it finally hit bottom as well.. im hoping all of these, including my favorite play ARXX follow the JDSU lead next week.. Lots of short fuel in the fiber plays so it could be very profitable short term..

As I recalled, in the last semi down cycle back in 95-96, the btb bottomed out at 0.8

The last down cycle was in 98 when it hit something like .57. I feel was really a continuation from the 96 cycle:
