Comverse Selected By One 2 One To Supply Mobile Internet Solution

Comverse Provides Mobile Internet Gateway And GPRS Data Charging Point For One 2 One

WOODBURY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 2001-- Comverse (NASDAQ: CMVT - news) the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based enhanced services, today announced that it has been selected by One 2 One, the UK mobile communications network, to supply both a GSM and GPRS-enabled mobile Internet solution.

Under the terms of the agreement, Comverse will deliver its router-based wireless Internet gateway, Mega.flow(TM), to enable a wide range of wireless Internet services for One 2 One's customers, and provide the platform for new billing capabilities for packet-based services.

Comverse's Mega.Flow has been selected as the platform for the delivery of Internet-based services to wireless devices, enabling One 2 One to offer high-performance, seamless mobile Internet connectivity. It is a device-independent, policy-driven mobile Internet platform consisting of a router-based gateway that supports the delivery of Web content to all device browsers, independent of an operator's communications protocol.

Mega.Flow will also serve as the data charging point platform for One 2 One's GPRS network. Comverse's introduction of a real-time data charging point on GPRS networks provides One 2 One with a far more flexible solution for its mobile subscribers using handsets to access the Internet. Rather than billing subscribers using traditional time increments, Comverse's GPRS data charging point enables One 2 One to offer billing options to subscribers based on their data packet usage.

Jens Denecke, Chief Technical Officer for One 2 One, said, ``We are very pleased to be working with Comverse to create a mobile Internet solution that will give us the capability to harness the full power of GPRS, as well as offer a broad and flexible range of mobile Internet services and unique pricing packages to One 2 One customers. Comverse stands out as a true expert in the field of mobile data, and we are looking forward to the exciting opportunities this collaboration will open up for us.''

``One 2 One is setting the standard in the delivery of high-speed mobile Internet services,'' said Zeev Bregman, Chief Executive Officer of Comverse. ``We are excited to have been selected by One 2 One to enable their delivery of industry-leading mobile applications and position them to expand their subscriber base through the seamless deployment of next-generation wireless revenue-enhancing multimedia applications and services. Our leading GPRS data charging point solution helps to further One 2 One's ability to uniquely differentiate themselves in their market by offering flexible pricing packages, customized to meet individual subscribers' needs.''
