Yesterday, GE was the most active stock traded up to 37 million shares. If they dipped down to take out the stop loss orders, most of the 85 million shares are now recovered in the last two weeks. Will they have to go down to $32 is now a question. The savage margin calls may also have forced some widows and orphans to sell their income tickets.

However, will window dressing change the ownership of GE in most value funds, I doubt it. Next few days will bear watching to see how things will be balanced out for GE. Mr. Welch should not advise people to sell GE, since financial services make big money with Greenspan's help in quick decline of cost of money. Remember widows and orphans watched out for Mr. Welch in the past.
