If you adjust for inflation for your $1.17 gas in 1980, you should be paying $2.68 for it now to be paying the same amount. You're getting away cheap. BTW, In the NY burbs, we are paying 1.48 for regular.


Apparently you don't understand. There is no need for adjusting because the price of oil is unadjusted and about the same. Therefore the current price of gas is out of line in comparison with the current price of oil as compared with the 1980's.
