I've got to agree that the problem should been addressed earlier, and should not have even come up. The silly legislation, the dumb moves by PG&E, the lack of action by Davis, should have all been avoided. Unfortunately, we are in it now. What really ticks me off is the attitude that this is a CA-only problem; we have lots of responsibility, but so do out-of-state gouging power suppliers.

The analogy is to the Nasdaq and Dow. Up until last week, Dow investors looked at the market problems as 'tech problems'. They did not think it could affect them. Well, think again. These problems spread quicker than you'd think possible. Let's acknowledge this as a national priority, and get it fixed.

I thought this was a great time for Bush to show some true leadership early in his tenure, but he passed. God, where is FDR when you need him...
