A thought about the strangeness of the rally- it could have been orchestrated with not a lot of investment on the part of the big funds, since we are SO ready for a bounce and the shorts are really nervous, as are any longs standing on the sidelines not wanting to be left out. A possible reason to do it? : make it look like we've hit bottom in a spectacular way to put the brakes on the accelerating fund redemptions taking place as more and more people get nervous about what's left of their retirements. It could continue through tomorrow, giving the country the whole weekend to calm down and leave their money in all those stock funds and not move it over into money market funds. This kind of covert intervention sure blows TA to hell and back!
