Hey, no problem with that SA, but this is, after all, a trading thread.

I came to the conclusion a few years ago that my "Dilbert cubicle" wasn't getting me anywhere and I'd have to do something pretty heavy if I didn't want to be poor when I got old. The stock market was one of the few options available. To make money there, you have to be twice as smart as the insiders to make half as much. Fortunately, this is not difficult!!

"It's a jungle out there", but the jungle can also be a place of unexpected beauty and fulfillment. There's lots of keen minds around here, and I have developed some very good cyber-friendships over the past few years. Even though I'm trying to make money, I still recognize the ultimate vanity of the endeavor and try to keep in mind my ideals.

I like being on this thread, and I wasn't so much trying to defend Jeff as give you a way to approach a potentially very useful resource. You're probably right that we're a little obsessed with making money, but having some has certainly changed my life (for the better, LOL?).

So... do you want to make some money?

Arrow: Now I have to respond. Spending your time in a balanced way as to promote self-health, enrichment, as well as doing well by others, is a constant balancing act of mine.

One does not have to sit in front of a screen all day to trade and trade well, I surely don't. I have a job that I choose to go to each day and for the most part, I can trade before that time, while watching during the day.

I preach more than most about giving back and realizing what is important in life, and not leaving anything in the bag. I have many hobbies that I balance in order to keep life fun and interesting.

Some things that you should probably know about me. I am 34, my wife is 32 and was diagnosed with Leukemia last may. Even as I write this we sit here and wait for the call today that will most likely tell us that she has relapsed .... to which there is no further treatment that has any level success tied to it. So sit there and tell me that I need to spend more time in a hospital comforting my wife, talking to other patients (elderly included) worrying about the future for me and my 2 year old daughter (MacKenzie), who may have to grow up without a mother.

We eat organically wherever possible, probably 95% of the time now that most larger chains carry organic products. For many vegetables, we grow our own ... although not usually enough to last the entire season. We have become very healthy eaters ..... except for the fact that I love pizza .... and even that can be done organically, but it takes a bit.

Yes, we have house chores and projects that need to be done ... and my wife and I love doing them together. Yesterday, before the bone marrow biopsy, we even got to pull weeds, from the cracks in our drive way, patch a couple areas in the lawn, edge, and till what will be this years garden.

I have tutored reading in the past, and I will say that when my daughter is older, I would like to do it again, but my time now is spent elsewhere .... my choice. So right now, MacKenzie is my child to teach, before, during, and after school.

Am I a guru, hardly not. I am someone who loves trading the markets as much as I love investing in the markets, as much as I love online video games with people I don't even know, as much as I love the NFL on Sunday, as much as I love life and love being an optimist .... despite how tough it can be at times.

I have no time for this. How dare you?

Jeff
