Paul.....I went ahead and disrespected that 13-touch (or so) 1800 support line.....Homer says "doh"....

Pretty good rally bottom there....but I am still a bit skeptical given the internals, and the massive short-covering that went on.....certainly, the move was impressive...but its time to see some real buying (and holding) over the next week (at higher levels), and not just one/two day wonders...

I still think that calling a semi bottom here is spittin' in the wind...and the fundamentals dont support it (only real good news was MU saying DRAM prices flattening....but given their, ahem, questionable track record on forecasts vs. recent "we know nothing" comments from Intel.....I dunno, I don't see the reason for the turn yet)..Also, to many folks still willing to jump on any little bit of positive news....makes me also skeptical of the significance of yesterday...too many trying to time bottom.....Jonathon Joseph, the SSB guy who so accurately called the semi top last summer, is not looking for a turn until late summer, and has said that the stocks usually turn a quarter AFTER a turn in the fundamentals...we'll see..

Hope yesterday was very profitable for you.....Dennis is getting me some foie gras...want some? <G>

Paul's not getting too excited about this rally. It may have some legs. <g> I noticed Europe is rallying hard this morning.Commodities are moving up and they are selling bonds in preparation for the stock markets' open. Re-flation may be under way, at least temporarily. Of course it could just be this- markpoyser.com

NDX needs to push thru resistance level- marketodds.com
