Thanks for the thoughts about my Dad, and you're right - I'm very glad I was able to take the time to go back and forth over the last couple of years. We loved comparing notes on the market, and I know he would've been calling me yesterday for a spirited discussion about the dizzying roller coaster ride on the indices. As far as yesterday goes, I tend to think it was more than short covering. Once that VIX went over 40, I started actively deploying - sticking to reasonable/cheap valuations in techland. Guess we'll only know in hindsight, but my chain's been yanked enough and I'm just tired of selling/buying every twist and turn.
