Mike,

Yeah. Meeting Intel for lunch today.

I'll admit I'm not a reporter, but if I was, and if I wanted to get to the bottom of things, I believe I'd probably want to meet with Infineon and Micron, not Intel, to ask my probing questions. As far as I've heard, Intel wasn't mentioned in the new documents. Oh yeah, I'd also try to reach the IBM executive who was mentioned in the transcript. And maybe the Samsung folks to see if anyone was ever approached about paying royalties on SDRAM.

And I wouldn't take the first "I don't remember" as the final answer.

If I was a reporter, I'd assume everyone was trying to hide something.

BWDIK.

Have a nice lunch, however.

Dave

Mike Magee:

Remember, this is not a good guy, bad guy issue. This is about "the facts". You and I could disagree about which player is a good guy or bad guy. Fine. But in looking at the "facts" of this whole business, the story just leaps off the page. Your readers will eat it up, no matter what the eventual outcome is. In the transcript are a number of "facts", not supposition or spin. These facts simply spelled out would make for a great lead article from which numerous trails of inquiry would naturally follow....both pro and anti rambus!

Bite that Hand! Go for it!

Mike Magee... Now that you are fired from The Register perhaps you will be able to write a true story on how The Register pushes their writers to bash Rambus at every turn. Kind of a purification of the soul while getting even type thing. I can't say that I'm sorry to see you go. You've certainly done enough damage to Rambus. Maybe your release was because you weren't as good a writer as Robertson. Between the two of you, he was a much better basher.
