"The whole California grid will then come down and it will take a few days to restore power to the whole state....If you live in California, keep some flash lights around and a good shotgun to guard your property...."

Your post prompted me to call the alarm company, and found out that if the power goes out, there are back up batteries which last for 6-10 hours on most systems. This obviously wouldn't help if it took "days" to restore power, but at least it offers some protection if you are in an area hit by rolling blackouts.

With the hot summer weather, reduced use of air conditioning.....some of the more conservative business offices most likely will start to change their business dress codes.
