Your solution is to arm the teachers?

No, I want people to see clearly what firearms are good for and why we need to leave their existence out of the debate. I want people to be responsible for their children and in general responsible for themselves.

I have no interest in arming anyone including myself as a "solution". It is only a common sense idea that we should be able to defend our lives and quite frankly anyone who does not agree is ignoring the uncomfortable realities of the day.

As an anecdote, my wife's school administration tries to contain all this violence stuff inside the campus, as in call the office if you see a kid with a gun (rather than call 911). This is the idiotic mindset we are dealing with on the administrative level. You can bet my wife will be dialing 911 regardless of instructions.

The LA City Council banned the sale of "pocket rockets" (concealable handguns) in the city. Prohibition didn't work and neither will this. I predict the crime level will rise as the perception of an unarmed public emboldens the criminals.
