The statement was not ridiculous... and it was not that we can't 'rally from these lows'. That said:

Note that all your 'examples' of rally's are all measured in 'weeks' where the post I responded to was talking about 2 days. The one case of a move of that magnitude was the rebound from the crash. The daily moves prior to that are noticably left out as are any other down moves... got 'bull goggles'?

One need to look no further than the skew in the options market to know that market gaps to the downside are more violent than the upside, the exception to the rule is individual stocks.
