Lucent Tech (LU) 11.35 +0.26 (+2.3%): Sanford Bernstein expects Lucent management to pull the Agere initial public offering given the reduced $6-$7 price range put forth by the underwriters. Comparable valuation with a 20% discount to competitors JDSU and IFX suggests a value of $12 for Agere or $6 per Lucent share. Feels LU should delay deal until market improves or consider outside acquires, such as Intel, NEC, and Samsung.

Sharck,

I have always wondered why this happens between 11:30 and 2:30. Is it after a heavy feeding do the MMs need a nap?

Back to LU's IPO, do think it will fly? Might be very volatile. Then again it might be oh humm and fizzle out. Will the investment bankers or going to be trying to get out in a hurry? Probably.

One IPO that I played with from last Aug. Otwo, is sitting at 1 7/8 now. I think that's is what happened to it. From 12 to 1 7/8 in about 3 weeks, another short I got out of too early.

Picked up another SP 1050 put, to ride the fence with, when it hit 1135.
