OT: I think (someone correct me if this isn't so) that in the Lionel Tate case his sentence would be reduced, not commuted, if clemency was granted. At least 10 years sounds right to me, life in prison seems excessive in this case. As for Sirhan, and all the other death row inmates who got lucky when capital punishment was done away with in the early 70's, I think that capital punishment would not have so many advocates if life in prison really meant life in prison. I could care less if Sirhan "took responsibility" for his actions; the nature of the crime justifies life in prison without possibility of parole.
