I'm not ar all arguing that the US and UK did not make significant contributions to the defeat of Nazi Germany; they clearly did. Their participation probably shortened the war by several years, maybe more.

Had Hitler lasted another 4 or 5 months, he would have been the recipient of that first atomic bomb, not the Japanese.
