But can you imagine the scenerio where some well intentioned but ill trained teacher decided to open fire? Or, God forbid, other students? Nightmare scenerio. The scenario you describe is not a good one but the real nightmare scenario is where the killer can methodically kill again and again either before the police can arrive, or while they are accessing the situation. An assistant principal did stop a school shooting with his gun that he had in his car and he got in a lot of trouble for it but IMO he is the hero of the story not the villain. He didn't even have to shoot any one. Tim
