A foal is a baby horse under a year and still on the mare, a weanling is a foal taken off a mare, traditionally horse means a stallion, a gelding is a neutered male, a filly is a young unbred female, a mare is a bred female, brood mare is an experienced matron mare, a colt is a young stallion not neutered and not yet used for breeding and a broom tail is not worth one thin dime.

I prefer the Koran when it comes to horses. Did you know Allah promised that everyone who took care of a mare would get a special place in heaven. Where did your donkey boy Jesus ever promise people something as beautiful as that?

All the bosal makers in Bozeman would agree with me.
