thank goodness the biotechs are up today Agreed. Anybody have any clue at all as to what caused the change in attitude from last week to today? Some Swiss gnome that decided that biotech was cheap after all? We actually had today's nice bounceback in the context of IMNX tanking, which makes it even more impressive. Peter

INCY's data base access agreements gives them a licence fee regardless of whether the information was patented.<< I'm aware that folks -- including the company itself -- have downplayed those patents for the reason you cite. But there must be a reason they bothered getting the patents in the first place, even if it isn't directly reflected in valuation as I implied by writing in haste. Would those patents perhaps have more importance if INCY derives its own candidates from such information, as it's on its way to doing? Whatever, I hope the audience is getting some utility out of the patent-related links I've put up. Patents in general will take a growing part of the stage in biotech theater in the days to come. It might be fun to dig an INCY patent up and see how they did according the guidelines the authors I've cited have mentioned. I'll get around to it in a few days if no one else does. That would probably belong on the INCY thread, unless the audience here wats to see the exercise. Cheers, Tuck
