Uncle Earlie,

I would humbly remind you that it was many years ago that I stayed with you. I will grant that those sorts of things did go on back then, but I have grown some in the meantime. (BTW, thank you for not mentioning that incident with my little corn boiler setup. I mean, how is a young lad supposed to foresee such a calamity. I am just so thankful that you had fire insurance.)

Anyway, I think I can live by those rules, but I would point out for your consideration the new box liners from ilikewool.com -- they are guaranteed and I could work off the cost over the life of the lease. You know how cold it gets down by the river. Besides, I shear her so that she can easily be mistaken for a large dog -- a Great Pyrenees in fact.

As for the fish products, well, cod is damn hard to get these days. As for the oil, I have switched to the cod liver pills. When nanny died we found a small case of the old Dodd's pills in the attic and nearly full it was. (Speaking of which: Nan had a fine collection of bedpans that I'm told are worth a pretty penny. Would you consider a few in lieu of the damage deposit?)

So you planted more trees I take it. That's wonderful.

Finally, it's been a bit of a tough go in the market lately, so I ask once again that you give some consideration to a work-for-rent situation. I know Aunt Maureen would be pleased.

Sincerely,
Your Loving Nephew

Thinking again about staying in the coated cardboard box , brought about my remark to a lawyer friend's email on a wine tasting:

Where's the category of "Wines - fortified - 5 qt box, light cardboard flavor, delicate hint of cheap plastic, firm formaldehyde finish, under $3.75, goes well with grilled on stick Spam or free soup, doesn't make you go blind, will develop nicely if hidden under bridge over-night".
