Fred.. I will not buy a single stock if it is worthless or droppping in value in 3 years. To announce that today is quite meaningful, they could have said that at 20$ I could make some sense,at 50$,it makes no sense. Falling prices is scourage of the markets and global economy, a falling stock price is not a safe heaven for a company like AMAT to waste its billons. If they wanted to buy cheap as yuo say and recession is aorund the corner, they would have not made this annoucement dude.. they are not chip makers they are equipment guys a little ahead of chip guys guys, they must have a good visibility over two years of their business to make this decision, if 'recesion' was on cards babe they will not make this decision. And what about NOK?? Are they going to buy their 50 million shares in three years too. Wake up call, paytime for the bears now ..ggg have a good weekend fred, ets leave the thingie for next week.. I will always remain your most faithfully.. Ike Look at BKX for last five years that may give you some inidcation and than care to look at a comaprison chart of TB's with junk..look at the converging yields and look at hte narrowing of the spread than fast backward to July 96, Oct 97, and Oct 98 you may find what I am referring too..this is not the first time I am involved in the discussions on the direction of hte economy..Ike makes n hypes only facts.. lets have a face to face show down on the facts I have higlighted above..
