You bring up some decent points....for a bear<ggg>
First, let me say that I dont know what sunw is going to do tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that. Maybe it goes up, maybe it goes down....heck, she could go to $3, who knows...........what I do know is SUNW is a solid business that in the long run, is not going anywhere. Currently, her PE could actually be considered pretty reasonable.......however that doesn't mean that sunw doesnt go down further. Bottom line is I personally feel that SUNW.....years from now, will be higher then todays valuation, so with this in mind, I am a buyer between $5-$14 ( already stocked up at 18) should it drop that low.
Another thing I would like to point out in my referance at top of post....you bring up good points...many people feel just because a stock is down xx%, it is a good buy.....Nope, wrong...it still boils down to growth, earnings, future growth, future earnings, supply and demand and etc, etc........Short term, the stock could go up or down...I sure as hell dont know and one thing this market has taught me the last year, is nobody knows. Period! Everybody has an opionion. I can give you 100 talking heads that will tell you why the markets are going down much further, and they will back it up with good solid data and reasoning. I can then bring out another 100 that say we rebound nicely, and will supply excellent data and reasoning.......Both sets of 100 experts cannot be right, yet both sets have good data to support their claims. Same thing on these threads....you guys can go back and forth as to why stock abcd or the markets or whatever, go up or down, and I have no doubt that both sets of people ( at least the mature ones that actually have something to say rather then bash people and act like 2 year olds) will have good data to support their reasoning. What does all this mean? Not a damned thing. Argue til your eyes pop out, but bottom line is nobody can be declared a winner until the game is over, and the game is far from over.....yep, I looked at the screen and saw Ole miss beating arizona by like 14 early...I said " game over".....arizona won, and won pretty easily......so until the game is over, nobody knows....and all we can do is look at the data, do our dd and make our decisions. Me personally, I am long sunw because I like the company, it's management and it's chances to be a force for years to come. The lower she drops, the more oversold and she becomes. The lower she drops, the better a value play she becomes. Anyway, it's a long game....I wont bet on what sunw will do short term, but I am betting that long term she is much higher then todays valuation. Everybody on this thread needs to place their own bets as they see fit.....you are either long sunw, not in sunw, or short sunw.......my bet is long term, long sunw.......Nobody elses opinion matters....oh, I take that back...I may not put much faith in the opinions of anonymous posters on a financial chat board, whether I agree or dont agree with that person because I dont know that person, their background, or how and why they have the views that they do...or what knowledge do they possess to lead them to say "I like sunw", or "I dont like SUNW".....But I will put faith in the companies opinion....and this compnay feels they are a good enough value right now to buy back $1.5billion worth of shares....say it again.....$1.5 billion.....Now, if I was management and things didnt look so good.......would I be doing this....if IBM, MSFT, HP or anybody else looked like they were going to hamper our efforts to be a huge sucess, why would I be buying back so much of my own stock.....it seems the insiders know alot more then the idiot analysts, and everybody on these threads....and the insiders seem to think sunw is poised to prosper...if not, why would they buy back so many of their shares...heck there are alot of bargains out there...lots of beaten downs....but they are buying back their own stock...and to me, that tells me alot...and gives me the confidence to be a long term shareholder of sunw. JMO.
