Thank-you for compiling the resources for researching multiple processor systems. As you point out, it could save people considerable time.

...if dual processors split resources between regular concurrently running programs...

Win NT and Win 2000 experts should know if these operating systems support automatic load balancing across multiple processors. Even if supported, all processors must share memory, disks, I/O, video, and peripherals, and contention for these system resources must be resolved efficiently. In most cases, PC hardware has not evolved sufficiently to support such sophisticated operating system demands.

Perhaps it's time for people familiar with the more industrial strength incarnations of Windows to shed some light on the matter.

Win 98 disregards extra processors.
