Precicely! Athlon would be in thermal runaway under the same conditions. Intel can survive and operate under those conditions while Athlon proves by it's absence that it can't.

That's not exactly correct. A desktop PIII would simply die if Tj reached 100degC, the new mobile won't. That's good. In the same way that it's good that the Athlon has such a high Tj. You can't have it both ways, Paul. Either a high Tj is good or it's bad.

But, of course, in true Paul fashion, anything AMD does is BAD, anything Intel does is GOOD.
