I quit the ABA years ago over the lobbying aspect. They were not representing my political interests AT ALL. Am actually contemplating rejoining just to take a CLE I want to take that doesn't seem to be available to non-ABA members - that's a Continuing Legal Education course. I probably won't, though. There is a lot of good about the ABA, basically the educational aspects, I don' t know what got into them politically. Seems like the same thing happened ot the League of Women Voters, and a lot of other do-good organizations. If you aren't Left then you aren't welcome.

I have to admit that listening to Dubya talk about how litigation is clogging courts and must be limited makes me break out in hives. This is an issue for the states, not the Feds. I don't think we need Big Daddy Sugar taking care of us, we're all grownups here, thank you very much.
