> I'm not talking about VC funded stuff. I'm talking about radio and TV stations that already exist "Webifying" (if that's a word -- if not, it should be). Folks like the BBC. Reuters. VC isn't involved.

The BBCs, and Reuters of the world will soon (if not already) stop or dramatically reduce funding their adventures in Cyberspace. Their share holders are not happy to see a good chunk of their non-cyberspace profits going into matters that are not making them a dime. Unless of course they figure out how to make money from their cyberspace adventures, it is no longer accepted to fund them. Examples includ emany including Disney which gave up on its cyberspace idea as it recently closed its go.com, and the same is going on with NBC's NBCI.com, and you will soon hear cybershops such as ToysRus, and sears of the world closing their cyber shops because it is simply not worth the operational costs involved.

> Again, VC isn't involved. You don't think Dell sells on the Web?

Dell is a differnet story. What will happen is that you would end up having a very handful and limited number of companies such as DELL that control the e-commerce on the net. The rest will simply be gone! And I can assure you that a handful of Companies such as DELL will not be able to drive the unrealistic exponential growth rate of companies such as Sun (as was expected in 1999-2000) to keep building them their already built infrastructures.

All I am saying is, the cyberspace business model has proven to be a very interesting model in providing goods and services in a pure academic context, but in a practical context it is simply a fantasy.
