Teresa and Co.

Just getting back into the futures game after a year break (just stocks/options for the last year). I have a few questions that I hope some knowledgeable people on this thread might be able to answer. These questions are all geared towards day/swing trading the NASDAQ and S/P Minis.

1. I am Canadian and currently have an active Lind-Waldock account. I know many of you have switched over to Interactive Brokers (http://www.interactivebrokers.com/) because of the price/reliability/interface. However Interactive Brokers will not take Canadian accounts under any circumstances and will not provide a date when they will be signing up Canadians. I am paying $15 for a round trip at Lind-Waldock and the service is mediocre at best. I also don’t like LW's trading interface – I have used much better platforms. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good futures broker that signs up Canadians? I don’t want the hassle of opening an off-shore account to open an IB account if I don’t have too.

2. I used Qcharts in the past for futures trading data. However their services were going steadily downhill last year and from understanding they have only gotten worse over the last year. Can anyone suggest a good data platform that is flexible, reliable and reasonably priced. I am not cheap but I don’t want to blow $600+ a month for just a data feed if I don’t have too.

3. For people using Tradestation/Metastock Day Trader as their platform. It used to be a real hassle for data feed and the cost was a bit to chew on. Could anyone please provide feedback on their current systems, data feed costs and problems. I have gone over all the information on the Tradestation and Metastock websites and SI but I like to hear directly from unbiased, professional power users.

All comments and answers are very appreciated and I hope I will be able to contribute some of my knowledge to the thread in the future.

Regards
John

Thanks Teresa ... below is a link to the bond loop chart, suggesting either the formation of another buy signal or a break below support and the development of a consolidation or sell loop (one or two more days data will tell). Given the other indications that bondz may have run their course for now (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=15551364), I legged a little out of the TIPs at the end of the week ... now approximately 70% bondz (including TIPs) and 30% stocks. Will be looking intently at what the first couple days of the week bring for the big market.

teresa

under friday, i've added the weekend charts, in my last post i referenced csco but had trouble with the link myself. so i added it to the bottom of that commentary.

i was wondering if you've ever looked at murphy's economic approach? under the indices section, i've updated what i have been watching in regards to murphy's work and put a plug to this thread there in regards to your 30yr bond work. it was my discretion to alter his work to the 10yr, for whatever reasons. i've enjoyed the bond discussions here as they play a role in the analysis. as well as the crb, which i've already sought your opinion on. i do enjoy this thread and is one of only a handful i keep bookmarked.

(kacy those are some wild-assed charts!)
