etienne sure looked bad. you say you are in shock. i guess. you've been singing this guy's praises for months now. and not only did he go down seven times from relatively mediocre shots, but he looked like an amateur in there for every minute of every round. were i you, i'd be in shock too. maybe this just points to the fact that having no doubt and no question about a fighter can literally spell disaster.

right now, the way etienne comported himself last night, there is a long, long list of heavyweights waiting to drop overhand rights on his head. outboxing him seems to take little effort and skill. i've never seen knockdowns like last night. he seemed to take a right knee on all seven visits to the canvas (until the last, when it was both knees), and his expression appeared to be a combination of surprise, embarrassment and confusion. actually, in truth, he looked like he was trying to act cool after having just been knocked down.

we'll all learn a lot about etienne from his next fight or two. i just don't understand how a guy could have regressed as far as he obviously did last night. questions for which there will never be answers.
