RE:"And cars contain tanks full of poisonous gasoline. What does that have to do with what's permitted in drinking water?"

Dan3, just a play on everyone who wants to trash Bush for arsenic.
Lately there has been great concern over sawing pressure treated lumber and inhaling the dust.
Also, there have been some bulidings down here that have been condemned and parks closed because of the arsenic in the pressure treated lumber leaching into the ground.
When it rains that gets leached into the ground water.
Just like all the gasoline left on the roads.
Gas /oil runoff into the ocean/lakes is tremendous, BTW.
Not to mention all those polluting boats, outboard motors particularly that exhaust into the water.

Next question?
Don't venture too far out of areas you know something about.

Jim

PS - OTOH, if you've taken to gnawing on your deck to increase your daily intake of fiber, perhaps you have a point. May I suggest oat bran or beans instead? Depending on your deck, they'll be safer and possibly better tasting.

Dan,

Actually, you might recommend some greens before they get wiped out by the smog; then he can go to oat bran or beans.
