Richard, >Is there one column per day?< No. As long as the stock goes up, Xs are added at the top. The first time it reverses and goes down a minimum of 3 boxes, three Os are used to start a new column. More Os are added at the bottom as the stock continues down. The dynamic PnF chart shows dates if you hover. stockcharts.com

In the conventional chart, numbers indicate month. 'A' stands for October.
