Doug: My interpretation is just an alternative to yours. I think it is reasonable to assume that of all the cyclical-growth industries out there, semis are reasonably well followed and attract a lot of smart investors with experience in pricing profitable cyclical firms. In the current cycle the prices have fallen along with disappointments in earnings, which is reasonable, and your graph shows a pattern that resembles patterns from the past. In your chart, it is the Nasdaq that looks weird to me. There is something strange going on.
