It isnt there yet, then again in Jan 2000 Those stooopit bears said the economy would unwind. The economy is holding up. but Real estate and Retail are trailing indicators. Almost all the other indicators are predicting we are in a recession already.

My only comment is that our economy is no where NEAR the pessimistic levels all these bears are claiming. Its just so funny and ridiculous. Of course only time will tell.>>>>

why is the price of csco going to $8-13 have to do with your perception of state of the general economy? If you'll note that guy pegged the top of the countertrend rally on that bearish call on csco.

csco and the stock market way way outperformed the economy on the way up, so tying csco's price to the economy has to be very loose at least.

We've just come from a period of excessive optimism, during normal times people have a healty respect for stock market risk, during the last phases of the 99-00 top people were saying "funny and ridiculous" things like "cash is trash", "where you gonna put your money other than stocks", brokerage ads insinuating you could buy an island domain if you sign up for their brokerage and buy some techs and ipo's.

The market of 95-00 can only be looked on as a historical anomaly, not a "new economy"

Given where we've come from, it should not be unexpected to have a period of excessive pessimism, yin and yang.

where the stocks underperform the economy and people re-balance their asset allocations to a more normal period.
