Eight San Antonio police officers arrested for drug trafficking
03/22/2001

Associated Press

SAN ANTONIO – The FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office and San Antonio police scheduled a news conference this afternoon amid reports that 12 people, including eight city police officers and a Bexar County Sheriff's Department narcotics officer, have been arrested on drug trafficking charges.

San Antonio TV station KSAT reported on its Web site that the officers, including a sergeant, were arrested Thursday morning.

KSAT reported that the suspects were under surveillance for more than a year.

FBI spokesman John DeLeon refused to comment on the report and declined to state the topic of the news conference.
