I don't want to be argumentative, but this is important. I don't think you can say, unless your crystal ball is better than mine, that the growth of any particular company, even (especially?) one as closely associated with the Internet as is Sun, won't soon be back to the growth rates seen the past few years. It's like a healthy forest. Burning away the undergrowth of weak and clueless companies can free up human and other capital that the stronger companies can use to grow.

And Sun could continue to take market share from the likes of IBM, HP, CPQ, etc. even if the industry as a whole slows down.
