Maybe you should load a simple utility that just monitors the memory and cpu usage without loading all the Norton programs, to further narrow down the memory usage problem. There are probably many freebies available that do this. One that I use also replaces the system clock with a more complete display is called TClock. hotfiles.zdnet.com Just a thought. Upon further study I found that you can monitor resource usage in windows directly without an add on utility. Under windows/start menu/programs/accessories/system tools there are two programs called system monitor and resource meter. These are the ones TClockEx uses to monitor the system. You can run them directly from the start menu.

I use Norton System Doctor, the program that displays the meters. I don't have any other Symantec or Norton programs running in the background, and I experience no problems. I execute SD manually, with 17 monitors. Memory load is 55%, typical CPU usage is 4% to 6%, GDI 80% free, and User 75% free. Cheers, PW.
