Look Joe, I'm not offended. Sounds like you've had problems with picking the right people to work for you. I'm still not sure not sure what your position is, or what you object to, except excessive book learning. Actually, on that point, we agree. You seem really angry with and distrustful of scientists in general.

If you think of me as some sort of ivory tower intellectual, then you've got me all wrong. I look at data - that's all I ever ask anyone for is the data for their positions. Unlike some people, I've changed my mind based upon the data of others. Surprisingly, most people have opinions without needing data, so that option isn't usually open.

So, regarding the beneficial mutations I've told you about (I'm sure there are more if you were interested enough to look), what is your response and/or concern about accepting this notion of beneficial mutations occurring (they do) and being carried on by the progeny (they are)?
