Well, climate change is not yet an economic factor. The real problem in impoverished societies is that violent conflict prevents normal economic activities. Since the US doesn't have that problem, any economic dislocation will be mild. As long as the gov has to pay attention to a middle class majority, I don't expect any dire recession. If the republicans are insensitive to unemployment, they'll be booted out next year. Most of the people of the world are not in that happy position, unfortunately.
