Spaghetti Pie

Spaghetti Sauce:
1 lb. ground beef
1 large onion, chopped and sauteed
2 Tbsp corn oil or butter
2 Tbsp parsley flakes
1 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp oregano leaves
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
salt to taste
1 jar (32 oz) Prego spaghetti sauce (= 4 cups = 1 liters)

Spaghetti Crust:
1 (8 oz.) pkg thin spaghetti
3 to 4 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
2 beaten eggs
1 (12 oz) carton cottage cheese
2 cups shredded Mozarella cheese

Make sauce by cooking onion with ground beef in oil or butter about 8 to 10 minutes or until meat is browned.
Add to sauce other ingredients in large saucepan. Bring to boil; reduce heat.
Simmer 30 to 45 minutes (sauce may be made ahead and put together when planned to serve).

Cook spaghetti in salted water until tender; drain well.
While still hot, add butter, eggs, and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Blend well. Pour into well-greased 9 x 13 x 1-3/4" baking dish. With large spoon, pat down to make bottom layer about 1/2 inch thick. Spread cottage cheese over this. Next, spoon spaghetti sauce over cottage cheese. Sprinkle shredded Mozzarella cheese over sauce and top with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 325 about 30 to 35 minutes, until bubbly. Serve. Enjoy! Serves 4 to 6.
