Fyo, Re: The latter is already used in a FSB = MEMCLOCK+X in some Athlon (KT133) motherboards today.

This is apparently only a marketing gimmick. The Abit KT7A is supposed to have this option (FSB change independent from AGP, PCI etc. clock-speed) but it doesn't work. Look at the following URL: icrontic.com

Does altering "CPU FSB Plus (MHz)" in SoftMenuIII affect my PCI and AGP bus speeds?

Yes. The PCI clock of KT133 based motherboards is always fixed to 1/3 of FSB. The AGP clock is always fixed to 2/3 of FSB. Beyond an FSB of 135MHz the ratio for the PCI bus become 1/4. So no matter how the FSB is changed, the PCI & AGP clock will be changed according to these fixed ratios. The KT7 user's manual states that this option allows you to "independently increase the CPU FSB speed". This statement is misleading: the PCI and AGP bus speeds
are affected. (Confirmed by Abit)

So, for this to work, the motherboard had to offer additional divisor for PCI and AGP to keep them at default values. This could be possible, but I doubt that anyone would implement that (although I really would like to buy such a motherboard). Probably Power Now! only has lots of different multipliers, so all those different states can be reached.
