I do not think you can search out why, out of millions of sperm, the one that made you, happened to search out the egg, that made you, you. Nor, I think, is it easy to know why, out of all the couplings in the world, the one that created you happened to create you in the belly of an American woman (assuming you were born here, and not in a slum in Calcutta). You could, of course, spend your life searching out the reasons for these things (and, I think, not succeed)- but the reasons are so complicated, and so numerous, I call them accidents and would not bother to search them out. It seems to me you could spend your life searching, and yet come up with no answers.
