You conveniently forget that the history of the Clinton era proves that the nation is losing the battle to ignorance. The average voter in November 2000 was barely able to tell one candidate's name from another, and were manipulated by crooked Democratic operatives to make the election close when it should have been a landslide. I know the Lefties think that's just great, as well as the sad fact that many of the brightest kids domestically turn to unproductive professions like liability law instead of the more challenging fields of engineering and science, because our schools fail them miserably in the sciences and mathematics. Our graduate schools are importing kids from around the globe to fill the burgeoning science and engineering slots BECAUSE THEIR CULTURES AND THEIR SCHOOLS HAVE NOT FAILED, while ours have.

The solution is to get the best and brightest AWAY from the poisonous teacher's unions and bureaucrats and put them in private schools where they can excel. Then the mentally challenged, physically challenged and parentally challenged children can be given the special treatment they need by the public system, WITHOUT the possibility of sacrificing one more generation of Americans to ignorance.

A competitive world is NOT going to wait for us to overcome the intellectual drivel of the Marxian era of the 20th century and fix our education system. They are just looking for the chance to get ahead, and it's been happening now for more than a generation...
