That has to be the most profound posts you've ever made. Especially since my Uncle was one of the pioneers who linked cigarette smoking and lung cancer back in the 50's and 60's. On the other hand, the proof that the earth actually exists is rather intriguing. Jim

In fact, there is no proof that the earth exists. And I have no proof that you exist, that SI exists or that I am typing on a keyboard right now, but the evidence points strongly to that conclusion. Usually when not discussing abstract philosophy this type of evidence is strong enough to be considered proof. Perhaps it could be considered "proof beyond all reasonable doubt" rather then absolute proof. Evidence for global warming exists but it does not reach the level of the evidence that cigarettes cause cancer, or that SI exists. Tim
