Les....Read recently that semis are usually the LAST to lead out of downturn in the economy (fundamentals, and, I assume...stocks too)...but then, while filing some stuff this weekend....i saw a quote from Frank Cappiello saying that semis usually lead tech out of a downturn

Which is it? TIA...

I was reading about flipping earlier today. For people who are good at rehab, flipping can be good money - capital gains tax rather than ordinary income. Just watch out that you don't do it so often that the IRS decides it's the way you make your living, otherwise, you lose that tax advantage. If you live in the place while you are fixing it up you might qualify for the capital gains exclusion, too, and at least you have a roof over your head when the market slows down.

My father's second wife used to build spec houses during the last real estate boom. She got stuck carrying notes for four properties when the bottom fell out.
