"projected recovery of the Anwar"

What pesters me about Anwar and all the figures being tossed about is the comments are worded like the oil is just laying there ready to be pumped out.

Anyone who invests in these oil and gas companies understands there are risks associated with drilling not only to the environment but dry hole risks as well.

New techniques and technologies have allowed for greater success in the drill process but let's face it not every dill bit project yields the desired result. Which is a commercial well.

If anyone knows just how much 3D seismic has been shot in the Anwar I would appreciate their sharing such info. All kinds of numbers are being thrown around this prospect and I feel it would be safe to say it this point they are all speculation.

Who knows how successful, even with the most advanced drilling techniques, an operator will be up there. Go slow would be my way of thinking.

Also all the hot air being spent arguing the merits or lack there of of drilling up north really takes away from the need to focus on the real problem and that is our societies dependence on oil for it's survival.

We must spend more time and energy trying to break that dependence rather than looking for ways to feed the addiction.

Just my opinion
