Elmer,

AMD will hide behind phoney antiquated benchmarks crafted solely to make K7 look good.

Besides the general absurdity of this comment, how can an "antiquated" benchmark have been crafted for a CPU which is less than 24 months old?

Elmer,

That's what I suspect too. Meanwhile, AMD will hide behind phoney antiquated benchmarks crafted solely to make K7 look good.

LOL.

I was in this secret meting in the middle of 80s, as I was entering the programming guild. I was called by the agents of a company called AMD, and I was given a spec of the Willamette processor. In order to be admitted to the guild, I had to swear that I would write software that would stink on Willy, but run beautifully on K7.

Now the secret is out. If I stop posting for some reason, you know who is responsible. But at least the rest of the world will know why P4 performs so poorly, and Athlon so well.
