<Any thoughts to the news about Gemstar and Comcast. It doesn't look too great right now for any competition to Gemstar. Any thoughts>

This article out of the Philly paper may provide a little more balance. TVGateway will get its share of IPG while providing a foot in the door to get internet customers.

You have to ask a couple questions...Why did the MSO's start their own IPG? (answer: Get more favorable terms with Gemstar)...Why did Charter and Comcast sign with Gemstar? (because those favorable terms have come to reality). I would expect Cox and Adelphia to sign also.

But, the MSO will also keep their IPG around (which means giving it some dedicated subs) to keep GMST honest. TVGateway will be around and it has accomplished what the MSO's intended.
