New Korea Communications Minister discusses W-CDMA.

"New minister Yang said the government might have thought twice before giving out two W-CDMA licences in
consideration of the local telecom equipment market, Yonhap News Agency reported.

``If the (government) had thought about the effect of the 3G selection on the telecom industry, it should not have
given out W-CDMA licences in the first place,'' Yang was quoted as telling local reporters after his appointment.

But Yonhap said he did not mean to take issue with the W-CDMA licences, which had already been awarded.

Shares of LG Telecom , which on Saturday unveiled its intention to rebid for the one 3G licence, rose by the
12-percent daily limit to 4,720 won on Monday."
